How to Cobble Foam Into Cobblestone...
Cobblestone walls don't grow on trees. They're too heavy, a tree could never support that weight. That's the problem with cobblestone walls. They're too dang heavy to work with! And real divas, too.
So I just made one.
I started with a 24" x 48" sheet of 4 inch thick foam and drew a quick outline of the stones. I mounted the foam to a sheet of plywood and then stapled down the foam along the outlines. The result was a nice relief of the stone wall. I sniped at it with scissors and tortured it with a blow torch to give it some distress and pock marks, like a good cobblestone wall ought to have.
Then some spray paint came by to party.
Last was a mix of paint and plaster as the mortar in between the stones.
Boom! Cobblestone.
